Advent Sing Closing Ceremony

After a delicious dinner at the quaint Marienhof Restaurant, Voices of New England joined two tremendous choirs from Japan for the Closing Ceremony of the Advent Sing in the Hall of Arms at Vienna's City Hall (Rauthaus).

The groups filled the room with the song of Ode to Joy auf Deutsch and then entertained each other with song and dance.

It was a fun-filled final night in Vienna. The groups were recognized by founders and organizers of the Advent Sing which has been bringing groups to Vienna to sing in the four weeks before Christmas for over 30 years now. It was quite an honor!

But I think our favorite part of the night was when a small women's choir from Japan performed a rousing rendition of "Salve Regina" from Sister Act. Here is a little taste:
